Treatment was fantastic -back & leg massage with exfoliation, really relaxing and in a lovely environment. Changing & shower facilities were clean. Spa area was nice with well heated pool, nice jacuzzi and sauna. No issue with getting beds to relax by the pool Nice Afternoon tea, but we had to have this in the grill, where there was a corporate conference also having lunch - quite intimidating for 2 girls in their robes next to 50ppl. No notice of this when booking which is disappointing.

Usually really enjoy our visits to Mottram but unfortunately the facilities and staffing standards do not appear to be being maintained in the run up to the refurb planned for October which is a real shame.

I had booked a spa day that included a 50 minute Elemis ritual, lunch, glass of fizz and use of the facilities. The pool and jacuzzi area is starting to look a little dated now but I know extensive refurbishment work is about to get underway so that is being addressed. My treatment was booked for 11am and I had been directed to wait in the relaxation room. I had to remind the staff that I was waiting and at 11.40 my therapist arrived. She was clearly flustered and took me upstairs to a room I can only assume they were clearly not planning on using as it was freezing cold - not suitable for a massage! The therapist referenced the cold but was clearly expecting me to just get on with it. I had to request a move to a warmer room. The room they took me to was on the ground floor and all I could hear throughout my treatment was the noise from people arriving and an exercise class. The treatment itself was disappointing. I had asked for a firm massage but the therapist, who I was clearly an inconvenience to, basically just rubbed her hands in circles across my back. The lunch was lovely but the area it is served in is very small and there were three members of staff just looming over everyone at the back - felt a bit heavy handed. I was also never offered the glass of fizz that came with my package. I don’t drink so wasn’t particularly bothered but felt it should at least have been offered. I enjoyed relaxing by the pool but think this is perhaps because I have a six month old baby and appreciate peace and quiet anywhere. I managed to get this spa day as an offer and was disappointed, would definitely have been more disappointed if I had paid full price.
