The spa is in the most beautiful location and the outdoor wet area has been thoughtfully designed. We received a warm welcome and the staff who served lunch were great. The changing room and pool areas are small and there is the potential to get crowded. The steamers never got going and I didn’t see any staff checking temperatures. In the afternoon there was a ‘baby swim’ in the pool which I have seen mentioned in other reviews, which restricted the pools area. My main disappointment was that my treatment room was right next to the Espa Reception Desk and the lady on reception spoke very loudly and was wearing heels so I could hear her walking round and banging doors. Similarly, the relaxation room was spoilt by the staff calling out names of guests and then holding conversations in the doorway. A few small changes could easily improve the overall ambience and peace and quiet. It was a nice way to spend a day with my Mum but i will not be rushing back.
What an amazingly relaxing day & fantastic lunch & treatment
It was clearly a busy day. I was greeted nicely and having changed shown to the relaxation room. Unfortunately the spa team were outside the room attempting to get organised for the morning. It was very noisy and not at all relaxing. Having been collected, my treatment lady was stopped and more confusion followed over which room she was to use. Once in the room, she couldn't get the music on and struggled using some of the equipment. This led her to be in a general stressy state. The massage was good however the facial was cursery. She clearly wanted to do a good job but organisation, and possibly basic training seemed lacking. Lunch and general facilities were good. I was then contacted the day after and asked to pay for a second person. I'd booked, paid and attended on my own. Again, really poor admin and organisation. So not exactly a good experience.
Lovely venue, nice staff with great treatments, the lunch was plain but generous. It is just a shame that there always seems to be workmen in the swimming pool area the three times I've been (which ruins the ambience slightly!) Overall a very nice experience!
More attentive staff - no staff were around in the spa area to ask any questions or order drinks. We had to go all the way back through to reception to finally find someone to order a coffee - we were still waiting for the coffee 30 minutes late, at which point we had to go to our treatments. However, spa is lovely - especially the outside area and the treatments are always relaxing.
