Turned up an hour before our treatments to then be asked to explain what our Fizz Spa day actually was.. and made to wait. Then was explained that 2 staff were off sick so 1 of the group would be at 12.. pushing back lunch. Not ideal but fine.. kept positive.
In the relaxation room, some went for treatments but on our return an hour later, some were still there and angry. They’d tried to cancel their treatments, even though theyd booked them in, filled in a consultation form.. and just left them! Some sat there waiting for 30 mins to then ask what was going on. Arguments ensued... just what we wanted in the relaxtion room.
So the group was split in half... then 1 person was made to go at 2pm alone for treatments. It couldn’t have been more disorganised if we’d tried.
The rest of us waited in the swimming pool area.. but the hot water wasnt working so cold jacuzzi for the morning and the outdoor sauna and steam room were also cold. Hang on.. we can sleep on the sunbed!!! Oh wait.. they’ve ALL been reserved...all day...
Went for lunch - which was tasty! - but no ‘Pink Fizz’ and told it wasn’t on the sheet (what sheet?!) but after yet more brief explaining it arrived.
Treatments were ok but varied which seemed annoying as we had all booked the same thing (bns/facial) - some had a head massage whilst the face pack was on; i personally listened to my therapist cleaning the cupboards?!
I wouldnt return here as it’s clearly disorganised, and poorly managed and staffed. Trip advisor has regular posts mentionning lack of staff and failed treatments.
For the group of us, it was a treat to celebrate the end of maternity leave altogether. Instead, we only had an hour together at lunch really, and spent thay catching up on how awful the place was.
What a shame...
Overall it was a lovely experience. The pool and sauna/steam room experience were all amazing. Our only downfall was some of the staff appeared inexperienced and were unable to answer questions.
From the carpark, the Spa looked a bit scruffy - they could do with sprucing up the car park/entrance area. However, once inside, the abience was good and we were set for a relaxing day of rest and recuperation. Nice, welcoming staff gave us a good quality towel and robe each. The facilities were good and there was plenty to keep us occupied for the day.
Had a really lovely spa day at Mottram. Loved the outdoor jacuzzi and rock sauna, and our treatments were fab (though they were running a little late in the afternoon). Staff were all lovely and helpful. Could have been a bit cleaner in the showers and the area you walk through to lunch. The only negative of the experience was trying to get booked in, the service in that respect could be improved.
Lovely. Great staff and a relaxing atmosphere. the facilities were excellent.
