Hema is a lovely welcoming lady and her salon is easy to find, the overall experience was pleasant however the treatment itself didn't deliver the results I had hoped for.
I had the Yuko 'Anti-Frizz' treatment and once I washed my hair (after not touching it for 24 hours), I noticed very little difference in the texture or appearance.
I was hoping it the Yuko anti-frizz treatment would offer results similar to a Brazilian blow-dry in that it would tame/straighten my naturally curly roots/baby-hair. Unfortunately it didn't make any difference whatsoever to the texture of my hair, so I feel it was a waste of time/money. I know it's not marketed as a 'straightening treatment' but neither is a Brazilian Blow-dry and that delivers the results I expect ... only reason why I tried the Yuko was to avoid the toxic formaldehyde fumes found in some Brazilian Blow-dry treatments.
After the treatment the only change I noticed was that my hair smells horrible every time I get it wet in the shower - like hair removal cream! Also, my roots now get really greasy much faster than they did before the treatment. All of this whilst my curly roots still require straightening with irons.
To get the maximum benefit from this treatment I purchased the Yuko Sulphate-free shampoo/conditioner which I feel don't clean my hair properly and therefore add to the oiliness at the roots.
Overall, I would be willing to return to Hema and try another treatment, but the Yuko Anti Frizz treatment was a waste of money and I'm not sure I'd try any other Yuko system again.
Just because a person has a certificate doesn't mean that they perform well as a beautician. Hema was a lovely person but she didn't do my mum's nor my nails properly: She didn't push the cuticles back or shape the nail. In my case she used a drill to remove the previous gel polish, which weakened my nails. 2 days later one of my nails broke. She didn't paint the nails properly. It was a patchy paint job and the sides of the nail weren't painted properly. She also managed to cure my skin to the polish! Like I said, the woman was lovely but her certificate didn't mean anything.
