As I was up in Leeds for the weekend, I decided to treat myself to a manicure and pedicure. A friend had recommended Q61 so I decided to book there for Friday night.
The place overall is nice and the staff were lovely. You get a free glass of prosecco however as I had a cold, I settled for a cup of tea instead.
As I was getting both a pedicure and a manicure, and my appointment started an 1.5 before closing, the experience felt rushed but that was my fault I guess.
The pedicure area is nice, with curved padded benches, but I felt like there should be a better place for you to put your feet after they are painted. I was asked to just place my feet on either side of the foot bath, where the tools were placed. There was so much on either side of the foot bath so it felt cramped.
Unfortunately the water went cold very quickly and I didn't think the step where the dead skin is removed was done well.
The manicure was fine but again, it felt rushed. I also didn't like that the manicurist took pictures of my feet and hands without asking my permission first. I appreciate that the salon wants to advertise their work on social media, but I would have preferred being asked.
Overall, I wouldn't recommend, even though the staff were lovely. I found it expensive for the service I received.
I really enjoyed my visit to Q61. The salon has a great, relaxing atmosphere, and my manicurist Sharday was lovely and did a fantastic job. The prosecco was definitely a nice touch!
