Nice looking salon, staff who did the pedicure was extremely nice problem was the treatment was not what was listed and things were missed out. Also certain things were just not done right, like no cuticle remover was applied and just two of my toes were scraped slightly in an attempt to remove cuticles (ouch!). The paint job on some of my toes were not neat and slightly bubbled too but I couldnt' be bothered asking for it to be redone.
This was the second time I had ever had a Shellac manicure, and after a succesfull first visit to the salon, I thought I would treat my self to a second manicure for gloomy January. The booking process with Wahanda was great and I was booked in for an hour long manicure costing £20. The salon followed up the booking with a text to check what kind of manicure I wanted, so I replied and explained.
I trotted down on Saturday morning and was met by a different beautician who was very friendly and pleasant. I was very excited to get my second Shellac as the first one had lasted 3 weeks and wasn't in too bad condition. The manicure started with the removal of my previous Shellac. I then asked about Black nail polishes and was shown a rather gloopy and sorry for itself polish. The beautician told me it should be fine. The manicure itself then started. A number of problems seemed to occured because of the product itself. The beautician, at first, thought I had smudged the polish but I hadn't. It turned out it was bubbling during the drying process which meant a consultation with another manicurist who suggested using more top coat. This happened a couple of times. The beautician was very apologetic. In the end the 1 hour manicure took 2 hours, which was a bit of a problem as I had made plans which had to be re-arranged. The bautician told me that the manicure would normally cost £25 as it cost £5 to remove the previous Shellac but she would not charge for that due to the duration of the manicure.
All in all, the beautician was very friendly and did make a compensation for the time by removing the £5...but I didn't know you were charged for this. 3 days in to the manicure and the nails are ok. There was an amount of polish beneath my nails and around the sides that I tidied up and two of the nails seem to have some markings on them, but generally they are OK. After a great first visit ( and an alright but overly long second one) I would maybe consider returning but will probably try somewhere else.
