It was a good massage but not as relaxing as I expected

Was painful for basically the entire thing. Some intense work done on my neck which didn't feel great. The therapist spoke almost no English so we could not communicate properly. She was pressing on muscles that were next to the main muscle mass for each area so it felt painful in a way that these massages generally don't. I wasn't asked about my body prior to the session. When I asked about the therapist's background she said Thai, she could not answer my question about deep tissue training.
