Booked my appointment for 4:45 so I could make it for after work and the salon call saying that they've double booked and I have to get there for 4. The salon is about 20 minutes walk from any of the nearest tube or bus stops so I had to take a taxi and even then I got lost. When I called the receptionist to find out where I was going, she was super unhelpful and ended up hanging up on me. When I finally found the salon, it was empty... So I have no idea how they 'double booked me'. My colourist Phil was lovely and the assistant Oliver was super helpful; taking my coat, asking what I wanted to drink and making conversation- shame the staff were let down by the receptionist. I already had an ombre that was slightly grown out and just asked for a natural touch up with some lighter tones. Safe to say, this did not happen. I left the salon as a 3/4 blonde, with the blonde starting from 5cm away from my roots. The colour wasn't even, I had bits of white, gold and orange and some parts were so harsh and not properly blended. Phil also used a toner on my hair which I wasn't told about and then I was charged for it at the end even though I hadn't asked. The only saving grace of the evening was the gorgeous blow dry. I've had to book another appointment at my usual salon to get my hair fixed as I honestly hate it so much- would not recommend for anything besides a blowdry.
I spent a lovely afternoon having full head highlights and a cut and rough style. This is a very relaxed salon and the atmosphere made me feel very welcome. I wish I had taken a before and after photo as the colour and style came out very well and I have had lots of compliments. Thank you OOLONG
Along with my stylist we decided a balayage wouldn't be the best colouring treatment for my hair and went with an ombre instead (with a slight additional cost.) My stylist kayleigh was great. The colouring and the technique used were amazing. We did over run a little so another colleague had to take over towards the end. I wish I went for a blow dry instead of a rough dry as it didn't dry my hair and I had to walk around a cold london with damp hair but that's my fault for not going for a blow dry. Would highly recommend.
I've been to Oolong 3 times before this experience and always had a positive experience before. This time unfortunately I wasn't very happy with how my hair turned out - I had a full head of highlights but my regrowth hadn't been done properly around my face (extremely noticeable when I wear my hair up). It was also very gold, but I didn't ask for a toner that time so I can't blame them for that. I sent Oolong an email with a photo of my hair and said I wasn't happy with the regrowth, and would be willing to pay for a toner if I could get that done when I came back as well. So I've rated them 4/5 stars because they did my hair again free of charge when I wasn't happy with it, even though I paid for the toner (which was washed out a bit early due to miscommunication with a new starter, but that wasn't too much of an issue). The staff there are all wonderful and I'll definitely go back there for my next appointment :)
