I had read reviews ahead of going so knew to walk through the gym was a bit unusual. Regardless my massage was amazing!! I will be booking again shortly!
Despite specifically booking the virgin coconut oil massage, they did not have virgin coconut oil; in fact the oil they had was 'pure' coconut oil which is a cheaper, different product - they tried to tell me that what they had was the virgin oil and no doubt this is what they use when customers book the virgin oil massage. Fortunately, I saw the oil bottle and realised it wasn't. So this is very poor practice - no doubt many customers have been treated with a cheaper oil to what they actually booked.
The manager did offer to cancel the treatment and offer me a refund after I informed her about the discrepancy - however this was when I was already undressed and on the couch (the point at which I noticed the oil discrepancy). Given I had spent time travelling to the venue, and was already on the couch, I decided to have a different treatment. Although I cannot be sure, I am not convinced that the alternative oil was a high quality product - just from the texture and smell.
The swedish massage itself was reasonable - neither poor nor good. The technique was slightly therapeutic but I have had many better and the massage didn't get the balance right between being therapeutic and relaxing - which the best sew dish massages do. The masseuse herself was friendly and she did ask about any problem areas - so this is a positive.
Also, the ambience is satisfactory but nothing more - the rooms are clean but there is too much light flooding into the room despite blinds being drawn, and it lacks that relaxing feel - bedding was ok but not especially comfortable and decor was very plain.
Overall, not a place I can recommend especially with the oil issue. However, aside from that, the overall experience might be described as vaguely satisfactory. Frankly, though, I am looking for more than satisfactory and I won't be returning here.
