This place has extremely disappointing customer service. I have come here maybe 3-4 times to get a Brazilian wax, and each time they did a good job. My last visit however has made me not want to return.. ever.
They were understaffed on my last visit, and I could feel the stress they were under to get the treatments done fast enough. When I arrived they had messed up my booking and had only booked me in for 1 out of the 2 treatments I had booked on the phone. They managed to squeeze me in for the two treatments anyway, but my experience for both treatments was horrible.
The woman giving me a Brazilian wax had no idea what she was doing. It was a very long and painful experience (she was working on me for 45 minutes, normally it takes 20) She seemed to have difficulty applying and removing the wax. When it's done badly in this sensitive area it's pure torture! I have had many waxes and know when it is done correctly, and it simply wasn't.
Then came my pedicure. The girl who did the pedicure exfoliated and painted my nails. She then said "I'm just going to leave you here for 10 minutes while your nails dry". FORTY FIVE minutes later she reappeared and checked my nails. They still were not dry! At first she insisted they were dry (when they clearly weren't!), and when I showed her that they were still wet, she then proceeded to wrap cling film around my toes and said they will be fine and won't smudge...
Of course, later that day, after taking my shoes off, 6/10 of my nails were smudged... My theory is that she painted on too many coats, or applied it too thickly, and the layer of polish was far too thick to dry.
I live 1 hour away from this salon so having to travel back the following day to complain was a huge inconvenience. As far as I'm concerned, any successful business offering a service like this would appreciate feedback, positive and negative, because it's important to them that their clients are happy and satisfied with the service that they pay for, and they want to show that they are willing to improve from their mistakes. This is not the case for this business.
I went back in to ask for a refund on my pedicure as I could not accept this extremely poor service. Their response was incredibly rude and they were not understanding in the slightest. After a long few minutes of arguing my point, they finally agreed to refund me but I was made to feel humiliated and cheated. I will never forget that girl, she has an absolutely terrible attitude. Unfortunately after that experience I will never return to this salon and I would urge others to go elsewhere.
Overall this treatment was good. The atmosphere of the salon is more like a high street hairdressers (which it actually shares premises with) with little privacy rather than a quiet luxury sanctuary but provided you are content with that, the treatment was good and the beautician very chatty and informative (not everyone might like that but I did). For the price, it seems good value and I'm thinking of going for a different treatment.
