Turned up for my appointment on time and the salon was closed. The hairdressers came a few minutes after to open up. I would've expected the salon to be open and ready to receive clients at the prebooked time. The hairdresser finished their crisps before cutting my hair. My hair was washed in cool water, when asked if the temperature could be increased, was told that was the warmest as shower faulty and needed replacing. To be honest, not the best hairdressing experience!
I could not be more grateful for the excellent cut I got from Paul Allan, the owner and director/head stylist. The man knows his craft well and it shows. I had requested a last minute cut before Christmas after a disaster cut at a different salon. I was beside myself and very embarrassed at the mess made of my hair. I needed a real expert to know what to do, and also to put up with my anxiety about getting another cut because my confidence was thrown. Paul was just what I hoped for - professional in how he handled the situation, and in how he re-shaped my whole hair to try to hide and blend the mistakes of the other salon (which I was impressed and relieved that he never once asked the name of.). I respect individuals who pride themselves in excelling at what they do, and this gentleman is nothing short of a scientist when it comes to hair. You would be lucky to get an appointment with him.
