When I arrived for my wax I was told that there had been an error with treatwell and that my booking did not exist. I was offered an open slot half an hour later than the one I booked and a coffee, so I was okay with this and thankful. When my therapist arrived off her break she seemed annoyed that I was there and stated that she would not be able to do a hot wax and that I’d have to have a strip wax if that was okay with me. At this point I’d been there 45 minutes so I agreed as there would be no chance me getting another wax slot so close to Christmas. I believe this was her attempt at getting rid of me. The wax that I received was not a good one. I was told at the end there were a few hairs she couldn’t get and she had no tweezers. When I inspected the wax it was beyond a few hairs left; there were whole patches that she just couldn’t be bothered getting. At this point she’s already ran into the next room for her next appointment. I decided to just pay, leave and never come back.
First time coming for a facial and a full body massage.
I was called half an hour before my appointment to be told that my appointment is actually at 11:45 instead of 12. I explained that I have received a treatwell confirmation for 12 so then she asked me if I can still try coming earlier.
I was 5 minutes late to my appointment and was told my appointment will be cut short due to me being late (fair enough).
The room is tiny and freezing. Considering a massage requires a client to remove most of their clothes, the room should be heated well. There is a desk right outside the room and I could hear people talking during the massage. In addition there was an annoying beeping sound coming from the room next door. I eventually asked the therapist if the beeping sound can be controlled and she mentioned that it’s coming from the laser next door. I told her it’s hard to relax with the sound so she switched on some music which was half helpful in masking the annoying beeping and the constant doors opening and closing and the conversations outside. The actual massage was alright but considering I paid for a full body massage, I was surprised that my feet weren’t even touched. I have plantar fasciitis so I look forward to having my feet done.
According to my treatwell booking, the same therapist was going to do my facial and massage. However, my therapist covered me up and left the room after the massage. She came back to say someone else will be doing the facial. After waiting for about 10 minutes, someone came inside. I have had much better facials done. I paid for a luxury facial but it was average. Nothing impressive. At the end, the therapist told me that the facial is done and I should take a few minutes to stay lying down and just relax. I felt there was a lot of time wasting happening with making me wait whilst the therapist would leave the room. Unlike other facials where they usually lightly massage the head, neck or shoulders area whilsts masks are on, the therapist would just walk out here.
I’m usually someone who falls asleep whilst getting massages and facials but I just did not feel relaxed here at all.
The staff were friendly but considering my treatments were worth 61 pounds, I expected the two hours to be a lot more relaxing than this. Would not be returning unfortunately.
Treatwell had double booked my appointment when I got there which meant that I had to split the treatment across two days however the staff were very accommodating and the massage was excellent
