I visited Pink earlier this year and was very impressed with my luxury pedi and gel mani, so I didn’t hesitate to book in again as a little treat. The girl who did it then gave me her full undivided attention and really made me feel looked after. Sadly this time it wasn’t as good and it feels like standards have slipped. Let’s start with the positive points: the decor is lovely, bright, airy welcome addition to the Viccy Road area that’s enjoying some regeneration. Good quality products and overall cleanliness. The cream seats have stains on them, chandeliers were a wee bit dusty and the manicurists I noticed, were sharing tools. Didn’t notice any barbicide or equivalent cleaning solution anywhere so that made me feel a bit yuck.
For my 1hr luxury pedicure, the therapist had her headphones in the whole time chatting to her mate. This was really distracting for me as a customer and meant she wasn’t fully concentrating on the job at hand - she spent longer scrubbing my right foot compared to my left and was overzealous with the callus remover / shaver thing. This morning my heel is a bit raw, tight and sore as a result. I had asked her to trim my toenails and give them a round shape (they were long as I’m pregnant and can’t reach my feet anymore! ) but she didn’t do this. Prob because she was too busy talking to her friend? This meant the shape was uneven and I had to ask her to file the nails down a bit more. I’d expect this from a cheapo Groupon deal or one of the other American style nail salons but not one that’s positioning itself as a cut above your average salon. Oh yeah and the other girl who was there was eating a smelly Pot Noodle and can of Irn Bru at the table in the main part of the salon. Of course therapists have to eat but this affects the ambiance. They’re lovely people: good chat, offered me a hot drink and make you feel welcome but it’s the little things that are letting the place down - and these details are easy to fix! I hope they take this feedback on board.
