The Salon itself is a converted house so it's quite small and not very ambient. But the owner is extremely friendly and the waxing is amazing!! So quick and yet not a hair left! I don't know how they do it!
I have recently started studying at The University of Manchester and chose 'Pure Health and Beauty' because of the amazing deal I received through Wahanda - £15 for a wash, cut, blowdry and conditioning treatment - a student bargain! After a week of freshers, I was looking forward to a nice, relaxing pampering session with a cup of tea and a clean, fresh haircut at the end! Overall I was disappointed with the result. When I arrived at the salon, both members of staff seemed to have a very laid back attitude towards their customers and throughout the experience I felt like more of an inconvenience than relaxed and pampered.
The hair wash was quite rough and the member of staff doing it came across as inexperienced and didn't speak English so would adjust my head into position rather than asking me to move slightly. I then had to wait with dripping wet hair while another customer's eyebrows were threaded before a cut that was rushed to say the least.
Although my split ends are now gone (thank goodness!) the cut feels very choppy and not as sleek as I wanted.
Despite £15 being a fantastic deal, I do not believe that this salon is value for money and would not recommend it.
Therapist was extremely friendly and welcoming. The waxing was very quick but that didn't affect the quality - I was very happy with the result. I would recommend to a friend. The only bad thing was the appearance of the building from the outside; it looked more like a building site than a salon which put me off at first, but they redeemed themselves.
