The only thing I would criticise is the 'restaurant'. Lovely relaxing spa and then you're taken through to a freezing cold room that looks like a conference room/old people's home dining room for lunch. We were in there in our own with one waitress watching over us. Food was nice and service good, but not the best atmosphere/surroundings. It was really out of sync with the rest of the place which was very relaxing, calm and peaceful. This is why I have rated ambience only a 3.
Absolutely loved the day. A wonderful break and escape from reality and the massage was divine. The therapist explained what she was doing and gave me personalised advice after tge massage. The facilities, whilst small, were beautifully looked after. The lunch was gorgeous and the service was excellent. A few issues but overall a lovely relaxing day,
Areas for improvement:
1) Massage chairs - there were only two and clients with pedicures and certain treatments get priority. They were therefore rarely available. Perhaps 2 more could be purchased for general use.
2) Reception staff. They seemed in such a rush to show you round that you couldn't really take in what they were saying and as a result we missed one entire room that we thought was a treatment room. Many people also commented on this. When we wanted a coffee it was difficult and we were made to feel stupid when we asked how the hot tub worked.
3) Hot tub - the lid kept blowing down on our heads in the wind so we took it in turns to hold it up.
4) Booking process - we have been here twice and both times had problems with booking. The times you are offered depend entirely on who you speak to, you will be told there is no availability and then phone back 5 minutes later (after rearranging your dares) and be told there is and no, noone has cancelled. We got extremely frustrated by this.
Was a really good place to visit on a spa day. I took my mum as a Christmas present she also thoroughly enjoyed the time there. The staff are really friendly and helpful and the atmosphere was perfect for a chilled out, relaxing day. 10/10
Treatment was fantastic and staff are excellent. The only criticism would be that the cost of refreshments (tea, coffee etc) is excessive. over £15 for 4 hot drinks! Other than that, highly recommend and will return.
Fantastic day at Rookery Manor.
This is a great venue with lovely staff and facilities.
This proves fantastic value for money.
