I visited the Rose Hotel and Spa with my friend on a quiet day, which meant we had the facilities all to ourselves. That was good for us. The staff were very courteous and nothing was too much trouble. Both of us loved the facial and massage, and we thought it excellent value. The therapist, Joy, was lovely, and blended her own oils. Booking through treatwell meant that we only paid £35 each, which compares well with other venues. The hotel itself is rather sad and in need of some care of attention. The pool was at the right temperature and the steam room was fantastic. I loved having the pool to myself. I never tried the jacuzzi, but my friend did, and said it was lovely. We were given sandwiches and a choice of prosecco or wine, and we enjoyed them. My friend and I have tried several local hotels and although some of them are luxurious, they are equally pricey. Also the staff at most of them are ok, but when we were slightly late at popular venue because of traffic, the staff were a bit grumpy, and we had to have less time on our massages, which is understandable when they are busy, but when you have paid a lot for it, you can't help feeling slightly robbed. So if you don't mind the surroundings not being so dapper, or if you are on a budget, I would recommend the Rose Spa just for the quality facial and massage. Also, my friend and I agree that we like a quieter spa, and it's worth planning when the best time to go is.
The hotel we booked was called the rise Hotel and spa. It's was that bad of a hotel me and my partner didn't stay it ruined or anniversary
Unfriendly. Dirty. Grotty. Being totally honest. The carpets hadn't been vacuumed, so we kept our shoes on. Also we had to baby wipe the surfices. Glad to leave.
Although setting not as modern & luxurious as spas we normally go to (De Vere, Imperial etc), the hotel staff were lovely and helpful and the therapist very experienced. There's a pool, nice new sauna and a small hot tub. Changing area in the treatment room was rather cramped. Prom location nice, but parking bit of an issue.
