The positives: Very clean place, modern decor and even though the wax took place in the basement, it didn't seem too claustrophobic or anything
The negatives: I've had a fair few waxes through Wahanda and I rarely critique anyone, but I have to say this was probably one of the worse waxes I've had. I was not greeted at the door, the reception was cold. The therapist herself was nice, but for the entirety of my wax she was chewing some sort of candy or chewing gum, which I found a little disrespectful. The wax also seemed very rushed. She didn't tweeze the small hairs that were left over from the wax (which excellent places tend to do). She saw a small ingrown hair and she used what seemed like her fingers to pick at it. Finally she made no effort to clean the wax away, she only offered some cream when she told me to get changed. While I was getting changed, she left something in the room so she just came in without knocking - people were outside. All in all I hate to critique anyone but I felt very uncomfortable throughout. Will not return.
I called for a last minute appointment and I was booked in right away; when I called back to move the appointment back an hour the staff were happy to accommodate me. Jason the manager was extremely helpful and friendly at every stage. Unfortunately I think the main beautician was away that day and the lady who did my wax definitely seemed lacking in experience; my bikini wax was unnecessarily painful and the appointment overran considerably. Despite my reservations about the quality of the service I received that day I would still recommend G&G and hope that my experience was a one-off. My thanks to Jason for dealing with my comments on the day with grace.
