I made a booking for a cut and blow-dry in February. I paid the full cost upfront via the website. I travelled 15 miles to the salon and was told that the hair salon part of the business had decided to close early that day. They did not have the decency to phone me to let me know to save me from travelling there. The receptionist claimed to have text me but then opened her phone and said 'oh it wasn't delivered'. So she didn't even bother to check to make sure I even received a message to let me know. This is not acceptable. It is beyond rude. I had to wait days for a refund, had to try and organise a booking last minute elsewhere and incurred costs in unnecessary travel.
The receptionist's attitude was one of utter disinterest and quite frankly could not have cared less about the inconvenience they had caused me. There was not even an apology uttered by anyone.
When I contacted Treatwell, I was told that they were surprised the salon had closed as they had more bookings for that day, so I was not the only person affected by this.
I understand that sometimes events out with our control happen. There could have been a very good reason why the stylist had to close and leave early. But at the very least, arrangements should have been made to contact those with bookings. A simple telephone call would have taken minutes. Absolutely contemptible behaviour by this salon and I will never be returning.
