The beauty therapist did a great job at getting my gel nail polish off, despite it being well stuck on. However, the basic manicure was quite disappointing. Just a cut and file, although I was given a nail strengthening treatment.
I came in to do my nails before collecting my engagement ring and wanted nice nails to take pictures of it. Unfortunately the second coat of colour was applied so badly that I have wonky lines all over each nail.
I had told the therapist what an important day it was. My fiance was flying out for two weeks so it was the only day we could have a nice engagement picture together to share with our family. Really heartbroken that my pictures are ruined and I have had to blur my nails as much as possible in the photos.
I went in the next day to show the therapist and she offered to recoat them for me on the spot but missed the point that it was meant for a special occasion the day before. As well as being a wasted effort after the event, I did not have time to have them done again. She didn't even offer a refund or a voucher for another visit and was surprised when I suggested it as a remedy. Her manager offered a voucher towards a file and polish on another occasion even though I had had a full manicure. Also she would only honour it for a month! It took quite some effort and explaining on my part before she agreed to a voucher towards a full manicure (like for like replacement) and extended the expiry to end of January, only because December would be busy for her!
No apology given for the upset caused. No empathy for spoiling our happy day. And as I was leaving the therapist was already talking about me to the other lady and pulling a face!
This salon is just around the corner from me, it is almost double the price I pay elsewhere but for the convenience I would not have minded coming back here. I'll see how my revisit in January goes before drawing any conclusions! I hope others have a better experience than I had.
