The staff are very nice and make you feel welcome. However, my haircut was poor. The cut is not straight and the layers uneven. I am now going to have to pay another salon to have it fixed.
Second visit wasn't as great as the first. The staff are fantastic and really friendly. I was given coffee, biscuits and pizza, so felt very welcome. It was a busy afternoon though and I could my appointment was being rushed. The result is that my colour didn't come out at all as I'd asked for. Mito had to redo it, which made me late for my afternoon plans. Not sure I'll be going back.
I paid for the package deal - the highlights/ombres/toner and cut with Olaplex etc. £100 (I was advised by the salon that I needed to pay for medium length hair even though I was having it cut short). The highlights were about what I wanted and they did toner as well which I think probably did help blend the new colours into the last colour and tone that down.
The cut however was done very quickly, partly as a dry cut, and not really what I wanted. I wanted a bob and showed the stylist a picture of my hair done like this before. I have had this style done often enough to know that a good bob needs a precision haircut which needs to be done wet, by sectioning the hair and this takes time. For some reason, the stylist cut into the hair resulting in the ends being different lengths - not sure if he was aiming for a layered look perhaps? however I would never have asked for or agreed to that style of cut as I know what happens with this kind of cut and my hair - it means that it doesn't dry naturally straight or curled under as a bob would be but instead ends up sticking out all over the place and takes a lot of GHD straightening to sort out (which I dont have time for every morning before work). I keep finding bits that are a different length and it is hard to try and get it to look like a neat bob at all like I wanted and which is what I showed the stylist the picture of. It is only a tiny salon with 3 people doing everything and hopping between different customers so I am wondering if this might be more of an issue that they couldn't factor in the time needed to do a precision cut rather than that they misunderstood what I wanted. By the time I left, the person who cut my hair had already started work on another customer who had just had their hair washed so I am not sure what they would have done with this customer if they had taken the extra time needed to do a blunt cut bob for me.
As for the Olaplex that was part of the package I paid for, I am not sure if I got it or not but if I did, I didn't notice them putting it on and it wasn't mentioned and I certainly didn't notice my hair looking any different. I am not that bothered as I didnt particularly want it anyway - it just came with the package - it was just strange that this was part of what I paid for but no mention was made of it.
Also to note is that the salon has a sign outside offering 50% of all hair services and when you leave they give you a business card with the same offer. I am not sure what that means the prices would be compared with booking through Treatwell but it suggests the list price they are calculating the "discount" from may not be the actual price they are charging anyone anyway.
All in all, some aspects were OK/good such as the highlights and toner, but I will have to think about whether I would pay £100 for the same thing again - possibly if I thought they could do a proper precision blunt cut bob next time I would do it but it would be worth checking how £100 compares to prices elsewhere for the same thing.
