I bought Brazilian Keratin treatment with hair cut on Groupon for £69. I was very sceptical after reading some very negative reviews. I have had BB number of times before and had some good and some bad treatments. I was very pleasantly surprised with the overall experience today. On my arrival the receptionist was friendly asked me to take a seat and offered a selection of drinks. My stylist today was Inesa. She was very nice. I am usually a fussy customer, always keeping an eye on my hair stylist and voice my opinion if unhappy. Today however she was so precise that I just ended up reading a magazine. I felt very much looked after and didn't need to be checking what my stylist was doing. My hair is thick and long and took some time for the treatment to be done, but Inesa went over and over each section until my hair looked perfect. I then asked for hair cut, just a trim and tidy-up but she double checked with me how much I wanted to have cut before proceeding. I was impressed by the hair cut in particular (had cuts before in Rush, Toni & Guy, Headmasters and many other expensive salons but was never 100% satisfied). My hair looks healthy and sleek after the cut, Inesa was really nice and sweet and advised me on colour products and how to condition my hair between treatments. ....As for the Brazilian keratin treatment, I need to wait until tomorrow to wash and see the results....but overall I will be definitely coming back for haircut, if not anything else. :) One happy customer here!
I have had my hair cut several times by Inesa and she has done a wonderful job each time. She spent a long time cutting and blow drying my hair. I appreciated her attention to detail and perfectionism. I am never ever happy with my haircuts and for the first time I am !!! Would highly recommend BACKSTAGE LA.
Went along with a Groupon voucher for a Brazilian Blow dry and haircut, with senior stylist for £69.
On arrival, was greeted by a male receptionist who seemed a bit wary - he may have been new, but definitely wasn't overly welcoming.
The stylist doing the blow dry came over to talk me through the treatment. She explained that the voucher only entitled me to the anti frizz/condtioning treatment, and that for £20 more I could get the treatment that also relaxes curls/straightens the hair. Was a bit annoyed by this, as there was no mention of it when buying the voucher. I opted for the stronger treatment, and as I had long hair had to pay an additional £10, so paid antoerh £30 in total.
I had one woman wash my hair, another apply the treatment, and then finally the stylist did the most important bit - the drying and straightening! She did a good job, was very thorough, making sure she got all the hair close to the ear and hairline without burning me.
The cut afterwards wasn't incredible, but I only wanted a trim anyway, and was only paying £99 for the whole day.
One thing I did like is they didn't try selling me the specialist shampoo/conditioner. She simply explained that I needed to ensure my shampoo at home was free of Sodium Chloride, and if I was worried, I could always pop back to buy from them. So saved myself £24.
Lastly, they asked for my email, as they said they would send me another voucher to get the same treatment for the same price. So I'm definitely going to be going back.
The Brazilian Blow Dry treatment itself worked really well. I have thick, wavy, frizzy hair. I left the treatment on for 24 hours (as recommended). After I washed it, it took me approx 15 mins to dry, and then 10 mins to go over with straighteners. This would usually be 40 mins ddrying and 30 mins straightening, so big improvement.
Would recommend going to Backstage LA for the Brazilian Blow Dry, especially if there is an offer on.
This salon is just amazing! I felt right at home, everybody is so nice and truly about hair and GOOD hair. not like other salons that are just like factories and just want to charge you!
highly recommend this salon!!!!!
I had the worst hairdressing experience at LA Backstage. The hair stylist was very rude, didn't communicate to me at all, even when I initiated converstaions, she ended it and she recommended to read the magazines, so that I won't get bored while she is doing my hair. To my opinion part of the hairdressers service is to interact with the client and it is supposed to help to find out what the client wants. In this case it didn't happpen, and she made me feel very uncomfortable and created a cold and awkward atmosphere.
Before she started the haircut I asked her to leave the top part as I wanted to grow it and only trim the ends a little bit. She was not paying any attnetion, cut a lot of the ends, with straight cuts, and then she cut the top as well. The quality of the cut was very poor, she cut my hair with straight cuts, didn't work it in to create a finished look, my hair cut looks very unprofessional. I complained then she said what is your problem, your hair is long enough, and doesn't matter with my hairstyle! I couldn't believe she said that! Then she sort of dried my hair, but left the back of it wet. Very poor service, I deeply regret going to this salon.
