I visited Backstage LA this month for a Brazilian Blowdry with a voucher bought on-line for £69. Firstly i was greeted by a friendly smile from my stylist and a warm feeling salon atmosphere. Before she began she gave me an information card all about the 'type' of brazilian blowdry that Backstage LA does. (there are many different manufacturers). From this card i had a choice of 2 treatments - Amino Keratin which is what my voucher was for - this is a chemical free Brazilian Blow-dry that will condition hair and reduce frizz or for £20 extra I could up-grade my treatment to a slightly more stronger version, this will condition my hair and straighten out my curls I took option 2 as my hair is wild!!!. I was also told that because the voucher stated hair below shoulder length was an extra £10 charge my overall extra cost was £30. I was very happy with all the information i was given and to pay £99 in total i feel was a fair deal for a beautiful treatment and first class haircut. If you are buying a voucher on-line remember to read all small print and look at the type of treatment you are buying. This voucher clearly stated Chemical free it was only when i arrived at the salon that i chose to up-grade. The staff are not trying to up-sell to you they are simply giving you a very professional service. I also chatted with my stylist about some colour change for me and she was very helpfull. I drunk amazing coffee too and had all up-to-date magazines to read. I had to leave my treatment on my hair for 24hours and when i washed it off the results were amazing. I had read this review site before i went to this salon and if you scroll down to last september there are some not very nice reviews. It couldnt be anymore the opposite from my experience. I asked my stylist why are there some bad reviews and she told that the salon was bought by new owners one year ago and it has been their goal to turn this salon around. The staff are working hard to bulid a good reputation and I say well done.I think wahanda should take off reviews that were not created by this staff. I will return to this salon again and i will also recommend to friends. I hope you find this review thorough and helpful.
Great find. Excellent value for money. I've lived in London for 14 years and it's hard work finding a decent hairdressers that is not a rip off. I've been here twice. I've had highlights and a cut done on both occasions, the second time had a complete restyle which I'm really happy with. The hairdresser just went for it fearlessly and was really friendly, communicative and concentrated completely on the task in hand. Highly recommend this place.
I bought Brazilian Keratin treatment with hair cut on Groupon for £69. I was very sceptical after reading some very negative reviews. I have had BB number of times before and had some good and some bad treatments. I was very pleasantly surprised with the overall experience today. On my arrival the receptionist was friendly asked me to take a seat and offered a selection of drinks. My stylist today was Inesa. She was very nice. I am usually a fussy customer, always keeping an eye on my hair stylist and voice my opinion if unhappy. Today however she was so precise that I just ended up reading a magazine. I felt very much looked after and didn't need to be checking what my stylist was doing. My hair is thick and long and took some time for the treatment to be done, but Inesa went over and over each section until my hair looked perfect. I then asked for hair cut, just a trim and tidy-up but she double checked with me how much I wanted to have cut before proceeding. I was impressed by the hair cut in particular (had cuts before in Rush, Toni & Guy, Headmasters and many other expensive salons but was never 100% satisfied). My hair looks healthy and sleek after the cut, Inesa was really nice and sweet and advised me on colour products and how to condition my hair between treatments. ....As for the Brazilian keratin treatment, I need to wait until tomorrow to wash and see the results....but overall I will be definitely coming back for haircut, if not anything else. :) One happy customer here!
I have had my hair cut several times by Inesa and she has done a wonderful job each time. She spent a long time cutting and blow drying my hair. I appreciated her attention to detail and perfectionism. I am never ever happy with my haircuts and for the first time I am !!! Would highly recommend BACKSTAGE LA.
Went along with a Groupon voucher for a Brazilian Blow dry and haircut, with senior stylist for £69. On arrival, was greeted by a male receptionist who seemed a bit wary - he may have been new, but definitely wasn't overly welcoming. The stylist doing the blow dry came over to talk me through the treatment. She explained that the voucher only entitled me to the anti frizz/condtioning treatment, and that for £20 more I could get the treatment that also relaxes curls/straightens the hair. Was a bit annoyed by this, as there was no mention of it when buying the voucher. I opted for the stronger treatment, and as I had long hair had to pay an additional £10, so paid antoerh £30 in total. I had one woman wash my hair, another apply the treatment, and then finally the stylist did the most important bit - the drying and straightening! She did a good job, was very thorough, making sure she got all the hair close to the ear and hairline without burning me. The cut afterwards wasn't incredible, but I only wanted a trim anyway, and was only paying £99 for the whole day. One thing I did like is they didn't try selling me the specialist shampoo/conditioner. She simply explained that I needed to ensure my shampoo at home was free of Sodium Chloride, and if I was worried, I could always pop back to buy from them. So saved myself £24. Lastly, they asked for my email, as they said they would send me another voucher to get the same treatment for the same price. So I'm definitely going to be going back. The Brazilian Blow Dry treatment itself worked really well. I have thick, wavy, frizzy hair. I left the treatment on for 24 hours (as recommended). After I washed it, it took me approx 15 mins to dry, and then 10 mins to go over with straighteners. This would usually be 40 mins ddrying and 30 mins straightening, so big improvement. Would recommend going to Backstage LA for the Brazilian Blow Dry, especially if there is an offer on.
