Firstly, I was reassured via text several times by the salon that my appointment was at 7:30pm - as booked. Whilst the third text seemed like overkill I felt confident that it was still going ahead on time.
Roughly forty minutes before my appointment I received the fourth message from the salon that day. My appointment was now at 7:45. Ok no problem, just an extra fifteen minutes on top. Yet, when it arrived I could already see that I wasn't the only one that received this text and a barrage of angry delayed customers were either sat on the sofas still waiting, or queuing to complain.
It got to 8pm. A beautician walked over to me. I thought - finally! But it turns out she was just asking me what tan I wanted. This was my first time having a spray time, so I replied "fake bake." Oh ok (like she didn't know despite my voucher booking weeks before) and then asked did I want original or dark. I asked whatever did look ridiculous on my pale skin so we went original.
The tanning experience itself was satisfactory, with the beautician being fairly stern with direction, making me feel a bit silly in my bare naked skin for not knowing what to do, despite me reiterating that this was my first time.
Anyway, experience over. The tan was left on overnight. I wore bag clothes as recommended and washed off probably around noon the next day. The tan was almost so non existent that my housemate actually asked whether I was going to get it later that night.
Suffice to say I won't be returning. It might be that I chose a light tan - but I find that hard to believe given how very pale I am. But £25 for coming out with pale skin after a spray tan is just not ok.
