I was very impressed by mine and my friend's pedicure treatment, highly recommend it!
This was my first time going for a facial, so I opted for the deep cleansing facial and my skin has never felt better. It was quite painful when the therapist had to de-clog my blocked pores but in the long term it was worth it
I went to Shumaila's predominantly for a luxury pedicure which I had booked in preparation for my holiday. On booking the treatment I was promised a reflexology massage and for the pedicurist to remove all dead skin/calluses/repair chipped nails etc. On arrival to the salon I was left waiting for ten minutes, I was not told who would be seeing to me or how long I would need to wait. When I was seen I was taken into their 'treatment room' where I was seated in an old, tatty chair covered in stained, old towels. My pedicurist gave me an old foot bath to put my feet in, which again looked worn and frankly unclean. The foot bath failed to heat the water at all, upon which the pedicurist heated a kettle and would have poured the boiling water on my feet if I had not removed them in time! The pedicurist, although an obviously sweet girl, barely spoke a word of English and quite frankly was unable to give me a proper pedicure (this is the first pedicure I had ever received and I honestly could have done it better myself). She scrubbed my foot with an old exfoliator (which again looked unhygenic) and failed to remove any dead skin from my feet (I had ran a half marathon the week before and had been training for a few months and was in desperate need of this!). There was a selection of around ten nails varnishes to choose from, of which around 4 of them were unusable as they had separated in the bottles. After the nail varnish being applied there was more nail varnish on my feet than my toe nails. Overall I was incredibly disappointed with my experience at Shumaila's. The atmosphere is unwelcoming, the environment is old, tatty and dirty and the pedicurist was awful. I would absolutely not recommend this venue to anyone and I actually had to spend more money in going somewhere else afterwards to have my nails re-done! Not the pre-holiday pampering I was expecting!
I had a facial at Shumaila's, I booked the Ilford branch but the confirmation came through as the East Ham branch, which I was disappointed with given I live in Ilford. However, upon having the treatment I was more then satisfied. I have booked my next facial there. The Therapist took me through all the difference steps of the facial and it was tranqualising.
This manicure is such great value for money! It was a full on manicure with nail prep, cuticle cutting, massage, hand mask and of course nail polish. It took over an hour and it was a lovely pampering time. Also they sprayed the polish with a sealer which made them dry really really well. I'm going to make sure I go regularly!
