I visited Cucumber for the Dry Skin Busting Foot Package Incl. Massage, ive got to say the 'dry filing' was amazing, my feet have never looked so good and would thoroughly recommend it, the staff were also really lovely, so no complaints there, my only issue is that the massage (if you can call it that) consisted of approx. 1 minute per foot !!! I was looking forward to the massage bit the most! then had my feet put in hot booties for 20 mins ( I think I would have preferred 20 mins massage to be honest!) not sure how I would rate it for value for money because of this, but as I say the foot treatment was great.
After I have booked my appointment I was contacted by the salon to moved the appointment to a later time because they were busy. I went for the "Dry Skin Busting Foot Package Incl. Massage" package and it was quite good. The place is easy to find. It is quite busy since the location is in the middle of all the shopping area but the staff are friendly enough. The lady used a machine to scrub the dry skin of my foot. She is very friendly and nice and we chatted away. She then massage my boot which was okay but the cream they used has a nice scent. Another lady did my pedicure which was done very quick and nice. She helped me in choosing the colour and it looks lovely on my feet! They also wrap my feet up in cling film so they are not smudge when I leave the salon.
I would use them again because they open until late. Although I do agree with the last review: the package meant to last for 45 minutes but it ended up to be more than 1.5 hours. I ended up late for my next appointment so I would clear the rest of my schedule on my next visit.
The treatment "room" is actually just an area closed off by a curtain - you can hear people walking and talking (gently) while you have your massage. Would have been nicer if it was a separate room.
The salon looked past its sell by date - scuffed and not very clean.
My pedicure took 1.5 hours when it was due to take 45 mins and the whole process was quite chaotic - first a girl started my pedicure who couldn't speak much English and didn't really know what she was doing. the someone who seemed to be the manager or owner took over, but she was harassed and talking on the phone at the same time as doing my pedicure.
The end result was ok but the whole experience was poor - not relaxing or professional. I wouldn't go back.
Arrived and was asked to take a seat, the range of magazines was great. Shortly after that I was asked to move to the area for my treatment. As I was on the phone my therapist neither introduced herself or offered me any water and didn't proceed to do so once I'd come off the phone either. The treatment was the Dry Skin Busting Foot Package Incl. Massage in which they use the drill that would usually be used for the application of acrylic nails to remove the dry skin. It seems there was little thought in this, the lady didn't have any gloves on and with my foot rested on a cushion, it wasn't the easiest for her to get to every part of my foot but she tried her best. Just before the massage section started, I was asked quite rudely if I'd picked a colour yet and when I said I hadn't I was told to hurry and do so as the tray would be required for someone else. Once the massage was complete, a rather moody therapist told me to move to a different area as the area I was seated in was needed, in doing so my therapist was changed from the original to this moody one who then proceeded to hurridly cut, file and paint my toe nails. I've been to Cucumba before, hence I went back again however the treatment wasn't particularly relaxing. In future I'll be going to the Chinese people round the corner!
