I have had the dry skin foot package at Cucumba before and I have to say that this time is wasn't as good as my first visit, maybe because the therapist was less experienced. The process of removing the dry skin wasn't nearly as effective as previously and my feet didn't stay smooth for more than a day or two. Having said that, I can't fault the nail painting which I think is excellent, the varnish is well applied, still has a great shine to it and hasn't chipped at all even after two weeks. Overall still good value and I would probably go again.
I've been to Cucumba twice for waxing. The first time was incredible! It was the best Brazilian wax I'd ever had. The most recent was a horrendous experience, I will never go back! I booked a full leg, Brazilian and underarm waxing deal for $70, but I swapped the underarm wax for a lip and chin wax. The wax was way too hot, I told the therapist this and she started to blow on it to cool it down, then to my horror she started blowing directly on private area to cool the wax down while performing my Brazilian wax, I felt so uncomfortable, embarrassed and violated. The facial waxing was also terrible, it brought me up with a severe skin irritation as the wax was too hot and I had a small patch of skin missing on my chin.
When I emailed in to their head office to inform about the experience I had had at Cucumba and to ask for a refund they basically accused me of lying. I cannot believe how unprofessional they were. Avoid this place!
I visited Cucumba with a friend for a pedicure each. It was ok, nice choice of colours for nails but for 23.50, all you really get is a quick soak in lukewarm water, a quick file and polish followed by application of cream. Our feet weren't filed or anything like you expect. So not great value for money.
I went for the dry-skin busting foot pedicure. James my therapist was amazing and really knowledgeable. He gave lots of handy tips on foot care. The treatment was a bit different to a standard pedicure - more concerned with tackling problem areas like dry skin than massage etc. The electric file used was a bit harsher than your standard fare but really does the job and my feet were the softest they've been- will definitely be going back. Thanks
Firstly, I'd like to say the therapist was very friendly and polite (the rest of the staff were not). I has purchased a package of treatments which included dead skin removal, nail shape and paint and a foot and leg massage. The skin removal was fine, but the painting was rushed, and no leg/foot massage was offered. I mentioned this as I thought maybe the package has been advertised incorrectly, they pretty much ignored me, no apology, no offer of a foot massage. The venue was nice, but I'd be careful what you book through this site.
