Another trip to Cucumba! As usual the service and staff were great. I've had a gel mani this time as gels last longer than polish and I need my nails to look good at the weekend.
The nail prep before the gel application is thorough and effective with a focus on cuticle tidying.
They use Artistic Colour Gloss products at Cucumba, the brainchild of Chanel's manicurist Tom Bachik and they carry a wide selection of the colours for you to pick from. I’m currently rocking a grey / purple colour called sooo in - and i love it!
Went as a group of 3 for a Pit Stop manicure after work. I really love this venue as it's sociable as well as convenient; manicures here have become part of my beauty regime. The Pit Stop usually lasts me between 4 and 7 days and since I've been coming in for quick manis (every 2 weeks roughly) I've been able to maintain a great nail shape and I never get split or broken nails as the regualr attention is keeping my nails in really good condition.
We were three. The chairs etc are set up so that we could chat easily with one another. Our "pit stop" manicures were as advertised: we were in, chat, nails done, and then off we each off to our next thing: dinner with family, drinks with friends, and home-sweet-home. Their selection of nail colours was half the fun. I am loving my charcoal grey, almost blue nails today.
Another great trip to Cucumba. There's always last minute availability here which makes it perfect to pop in after work. There's a great selection of Essie colours and i always get at least four days of pristine nails before chips.
Cucumba is fast becoming one of my favourite beauty venues in London after I discovered it last year, through Wahanda. The concept is great - you pick your treatment and then select whether you need a quick fix, or something more intensive. The Salon is nicely decorated and friendly and welcoming, in a great location just off Oxford Street.
I've been a few times already this month, and at the great prices it will be a regular treat for me. The Quick Fix mani is spot on - a quick file and polish. The shape is always great and the selection of colours means I'm never able to decide quickly! The Pit Stop is just a few minutes longer and includes cuticle work and moisturising. The Quick Fix is fine for my weekly visits, but I add in the Pit Stop every so often to make sure my nails are in tip top condition. I visit with my friend and we always sit together and gossip during the manis, making it a perfect post-work treat.
