I booked a spa day that included 3 x 25 minute treatments (body scrub, facial and massage) for me and a friend. The venue is okay and the outside surroundings are pleasant, but it was difficult to find somewhere to relax in between treatments if you don't want to be by the pool (it was very humid there). The "spa lounge" is a small coffee area in the hotel separate from the spa facilities so it felt a bit strange to be sitting there in your robe and swimming cossie! The relaxation room was the nicest area to chill out but limited in space so you are only supposed to stay there for 30 minutes after a treatment - I assume so that they don't get too full. The lunch was a set menu and it was great - soup, dainty salad, small sandwiches, mini cake, fruit skewer and a cheese board - I was surprised how full I was! The facial and massage were good, but I think 25 minutes is not enough time to offer a body scrub - the scrub was smoothed on the skin in one stroke and not then massaged into the skin at all, thereby offering no exfoliation benefits. It would be better if an alternative treatment was offered in the package. I have only scored 2 stars on value because when we searched on Wahanda a lot of spa days were cheaper than this and included treatments. Plus the individual 25 minutes treatments cost approx. £40 each and I have just booked myself a 80 minute facial using my preferred skincare range for the same price.
The location and spa are excellent if all is going well.
But you're only as good as your weakest member of staff.
Having had years of excellent treatments, it was a huge disappointment to be rudely treated by a young girl whom was obviously having a bad day.
Staff should always be willing to assist with a friendly manner. Disappointing!
