I was really impressed with this spa, in a leisure center. Once past the spa doors, it was really nice and serene and like a proper spa. The treatment rooms were big and nice and the therapist lovely. The massage was excellent and I definitely want to go back.
The girls I spoke to at reception were very helpful and friendly. My therapist made me feel welcome and at ease and asked if there was anything in particular I was after and then suggested a suitable treatment for me. I thoroughly enjoyed my experience!
Nicole is a great therapist. She works at Spa London in Swiss Cottage and she had one of the best "couch manners" I have come across: asking me about the pressure I prefer and which areas to focus on. I asked for a medium to firm pressure particularly on shoulders and upper back and Nicole did exactly that, alternating the deep tissue strokes with gentler ones. Great work with her forearms too. Now, the venue: I am not sure if a nice spa like this should be in the same building as a Leisure Centre. I know that it may make sense commercially but the place has not got the right atmosphere. Don't get me wrong, the spa itself is beautifully decorated and the treatment rooms are lovely: spacious and with fabulous hydraulic beds and an extra heated layer (I had to have a peek: it's like a water bed!). It's just that... you have to go through a very busy leisure centre. In summary, I had a superb massage and a positive experience at the spa. I am just unsure about the location! I guess I should really try the other venue in Bethnal Green to get a better idea.... any excuse to get more pampering!
Eceleent treatment for a manicure that last upto 3 weeks. No chips you can just get it done and not think about it until your next appointment where they will take the polish off for you(you cant do this at home) and get it done again. The best bit is your nails are prefectly dry before you leave the salon so no smudges on the way home. Good salon and easy to get to if you live in north or west london. Lovely therapist and good value for money.
I had initially booked the 75 mins back shoulder massage followed by a terre de la mer facial. When i first arrived, i was kept waiting for about 15 whilst filling out a form. Then i found that i could not do the treatment as i was allergic to shellfish and the ingredients may trigger an allergy reaction. However the therapist offered to change it to other treatments on the menu. So i picked the thalgo hydration facial which was 55 mins but had to pay the difference which was £20 i think. The therapist gave me a 75 mins facial treatment as opposed to the 55 mins off the menu. So even though i had to make up the difference, i felt ok. The therapist was really good, her techniques were slow and deliberate and really helped me relax as i am not always able to relax during facials. The quietness of the place was also good, i think it must have been well insulated, so that i cannot hear other people walking in the corridor or people in the next rooms as in some other places. The ambience of the room was just right. So despite the earlier hiccups, i thoroughly enjoyed it!
