They cancelled my treatment the day it was scheduled. Fortunately try offered me a comparable treatment. The treatment was just okay- wouldn't recommend it.
The beautician was lovely but didn't do a good job. She left hair in really obvious places and made me bleed a lot which has never happened before - I've had waxing for the last 12 years and have never experienced this!
This was my second visit to the York Hall spa. I love the 'Better' brand facilities.
We had three hours in the thermal baths with a massage and facial each. We went on a Wednesday day time, which was a female only session. This time we booked the facials for the end of our time, as to not sweat out all the moisturiser we'd had applied! Both treatments were wonderful, the staff were amazing, kind and considerate. I was so relaxed I nearly fell asleep on the table!
The facilities are great. Plunge pool, monsoon shower, bucket shower, hot rooms, ice fountain, two steam rooms and a sauna - everything you need to alternate hot and cold. The relaxation room was lovely too, where complimentary fruit water, apples and grapefruit segments were left out for guests. For a very reasonable £2.50 you can buy healthy, freshly blended juices.
All in all the spa is great. My only advice is to take some non-slippy pool shoes: the spa give you flip flops but I find this very slippery on the wet tiles!
