We had a lovely day, facilities a little run down- steam room never really hot steamy and looked a little dated and grubby.
Staff were very friendly, food good, treatments were fine. Felt relaxed and happy when we left.
I was looking forward to this, but I am very annoyed they misspelt my name as I wrote it clearly on the booking form. I've had it before when giving my name over the phone and I know it's an unusual name, but this was already written down so shows lack of consideration. The therapist was friendly and facial was fine, although my friend felt like her back massage was a bit shorter than 25 minutes. Afterwards we relaxed in the relaxation room. Whilst there is a good selection of twinnings tea, the water in cistern with just above tepid. There was no-one to ask and we didn't fancy heading into the restaurant with our robes on. I appreciate that the lighting in the relaxation room is moody and low, but I could still see that the far end of the couches were layered with dust. We found the Marilyn Monroe duvets were also a weird style choice, compared to the neutral styling. Annoyingly the spa slippers can't be worn in nonspa area so had to walk barefoot in pool/ sauna. I spoke to spa staff on phone beforehand so would have been nice to have been warned. We spent some time in the pool, jacuzzi, sauna and steam room. The steam room had some weird dirt marks on the wall, which was a bit disturbing. Good to have shower gel and hairdrier in the changing room. Also good that it was a combination lock so don't have to carry about a tag in the pool/treatment area. Glad to have tried it, but doubt I'll be heading back as don't think the £49 price tag was justified.
The spa facilities were lovely and created a wonderful relaxing atmosphere. Staff were very friendly, courteous and helpful and the facial was a revelation. Will definitely be returning.
