Do recommend the Sunday over night spa stay it's amazing deal would definitely do it again, I Brought this for a present for my niece's 18th birthday and with 4 of us going we had fab time and most of all my niece did & can't wait to go back sometime, the hotel is lovely, the spa just as we needed & the food was also lovely, staff are even so friendly & helpful couldn't fault them, rooms are perfect.. Happy customers!
The spa itself at Hotel Mercure was a delight; the pool looks out onto a lovely view of the city, and makes a change from the slightly clinical feel of similar places I have been to. We were greeted by a lovely receptionist upon arrival who was keen to tend to our needs.
We ordered the £10 lunch option, as thought this might be a good break between treatments and easier than venturing out. It did seem to be a bit measly for the price, and we were given sandwiches which were missing a filling and the crisps noted on the menu weren't included. My sister pointed this out to the waitress and the manager came and apologised immediately; bringing us a glass of prosecco, some crisps and some more sandwiches! This was really nice of them, and we did not expect it at all.
I went for the facial treatment. The therapist was very good and obviously skilled, although I objected to being given the 'hard sell' at the end of my treatment. I would expect this at some point, but the fact that she insisted on doing it immediately after my treatment (when you're supposed to be given a little space) kind of ruined it, and, with me still under the blanket, made me feel slightly trapped! My sister didn't experience this, so perhaps it was just her.
