I went with a friend for a massage here. The massage therapist was good and did the job really well. I have only good things to say about her, she was really friendly and my friend agreed she was great. The only thing that let it down was the venue itself. The techno music was so loud that I could hear it above the music in the room. The massage room is also under some stairs and the staff were charging up and down making loads of noise which was quite distracting and ruined the experience.
I had a really nice therapist. Fast and a good job. The place put me off at first because it's cramped but no complaints at all. There was no awkwardness either.
BEWARE OF THIS SALON - AVOID AT ALL COSTS. decided to go to splash after looking at prices on wahanda and trying to call several other salons which were more local, who were all fully booked. got to splash which is a tiny salon, rammed full of people waiting for haircuts and looking worried at what they were letting themselves in for! as others have mentioned - insanely loud music with stylist yelling over it to their customers. v nerve-racking! i wonder how many people get the wrong cut owing to the fact their stylist didn't hear them properly! my beautician, martina, came over and took me downstairs to the beauty room, where it was slightly less loud. no air-con or windows though, which meant this tiny, halogen lit room was absolutely boiling! i was genuinely dripping by the time i left, hair stuck to head and everything - not ideal! during the treatment, martina was very quick, seemingly efficient, and did not cause much pain at all. i felt she knew exactly what she was doing. she was polite and friendly too, but not much - i don't really like it when beauticians ask me heaps of personal questions when i am trying to concentrate on coping with the pain! so i thought it had gone pretty well - martina did not leave the room after or before for me to get changed (like every other beautician in every other salon i've ever been to does) so i didn't get a chance to inspect her work. when i got home about an hour later and had a look, i couldn't believe it! there were still lots of big chunks of wax stuck to me, which i had to pull off myself - ouch! not to mention the 'strip' left when doing a brazilian - it's so off centre it looks like a blind person has done it! also there plenty of random patches here and there that she has just ignored. unbelievable - i thought £23 was a good price, but as i'm going to have to pay at least that again to get someone else to finish it, it really isn't! and i mean it is that bad - i wouldn't be able to live with this for the next month or so. BEWARE OF THIS SALON - AVOID AT ALL COSTS.
With the Wahanda deal this was a very decent wax. The place was thumping with loud music and incredibly busy but I was well looked after by the staff and the therapist was lovely. It was strip wax which isn't quite as nice as hot wax but she made sure I was completely happy with the job before finishing. I'm not sure I'd go there again if I had to pay full price, but with the deal it was great value for money!
My booking was at 11, the salon's opening time. If booking a waxing I would advise to book later on in the day as I did have to wait a while as the wax heated and the room was prepared. My beautician was Martina, who was professional and friendly, making me feel very comfortable. She completed my waxing very quickly and cleanly. This was excellent value compared to other hollywood waxes and the salon is easy to find in a convenient location.
