I actually went to Splash New Row to have acrylic infills done: unfortunately, apparently the therapist who used the do the acrylic nails had resigned a couple of days before, and while there the new therapist (Federica, a lovely and professional young woman) had just discovered that the acrylic powder was missing, either very well hidden or stolen by the other therapist.
Of course I was not very happy with that, but Federica told me it was not her fault, as she usually works in another Slplash salon, and having spoken to management they offered me either the refund of the value of the voucher, or to have Shellac (a more expensive treatment) done: I decided to go for the Shellac,not for the money value, but because I had fresh nail polish on my toes, having just had pedicure done at the same salon .
Once again, even thoguh it was not the treatment I had booked, Federica did a lovely job, and I am very happy with my Shellac nails - both how they look and the lovely colour.
I will definitely go back to have my manicure done at Splash New Row, hoping that Federica will be my therapist again, and I will be very happy to try the other beauty treatments she offers too.
For my opinion on the salon in general, please see my review of the pedicure treatment below.
I went to Splash New Row to have a full pedicure done: I had my appointment at 1.30pm, but I arrived at 1pm, having left home earlier to do some shopping, being the location quite central. Problem is: when I came out of Holborn station, it was raining cats and dogs, so I decided to go straight to the venue: notwishstanding having an umbrella, I arrived at salon absolutely drenched, and when I got there no one at reception offered me to help me dry in some way, or I wasn't offered a cup of tea or a glass of water - which would have been nice while waiting - so I was not impressed by that.
Having waiting in my wet clothes, hair, shoes, in the haidressing area, finally (145pm - later than booked) the therapist (lovely and very professional and competent woman, I am absolutely very impressed by her and her work) came to collect me, and asked me if I had taken my flip-flops, which of course I hadn't, as it was not written anywhere - either on the description of the treatment on Wahanda, or on the voucher - that I should have taken my own flip-flops, therefore I thought they would have dried the nail polish in the very useful "oven" some salons use. Luckily, I had booked a manicure at the same salon afterwards, so she thought I'd had enough time for the polish to dry while having my manicure done.
The treatment in itself was very good, and I am very happy with the therapist: having a fungal nail, she even gave me some suggestions and advices on that.
When I finished with her and I started my manicure treatment, unfortunately the manicure therapist touched my feet, and the polish on my left toe was smudged - while having my manicure done the pedicure therapist reapplied the polish on that nail, but unfortunately by the time I left the salon it was still fresh, therefore when I got home it had smudged because I was wearing ballerinas, and I am not very happy with that, to be honest.
Finally, I might go back to Splash New Row, but:
- they must improve their customer service and reception manners;
- they either write on the voucher or on the website to take your own flipflops, or get something to dry normal polish quicker.
Please turn the overhead lights off when you leave the room for 15 minutes at a time. The lady that did my facial was out of the room more than she was in it. Found a wash cloth in the room and covered my eyes. Not the best ambiance. Would not use again.
Friendly staff, quick service, and a great haircut. Knew pretty much what I wanted and did a really good job. For the price I will definately go again.
