I've never been to this Splash salon before, and I was very impressed. At first, to be honest, I was horrified by the ambience of the salon: It's small, and it was a hot day, so it wasn't exactly an airy space to be in. Also, the music they were playing was literally the loudest music I have ever heard in any salon, anywhere (I think a previous reviewer said it's like a nightclub. Exactly right. And not in a good way.) I had to shout at the receptionist to announce myself, and I was not looking forward to sitting through what should have been a relaxing pedicure while feeling like I was next to the speakers at a music festival...
However, the beauty area downstairs is separate from the two (upstairs and downstairs) hairdressing sections, and it does not feature deafening doof-doof music. Thank. God. For. That. I was show to a quiet, comfortable and private area for my pedicure, and immediately offered a drink. My therapist was absolutely brilliant - she could not have been more lovely or skilful. They have an amazing range of gel/shellac colours, and all customers were even offered a piece of cake, as it was one of the other therapist's birthdays. I often go to Splash Goodge St for nails, and this space (and overall experience) was nicer - it's still a small space, but it feels more private and high-end. On the basis of the deafening music alone, I would never darken their door looking for a haircut (not without carrying earplugs, anyway), but I'd definitely go back for nails/beauty services.
In short: I left very happy, very relaxed, and with brilliant-looking nails. Thank you!
