I came here for a gel nail removal and new set, decided on it because of the good price, the place I normally go to is more expensive. All in all the nails look good but I wasn't happy about the removal process. I had to put my entire hand into the solution which I imagine isn't very good for the skin (my other place just soaks a piece of cotton, puts it on the nail and wraps some foil around it). Then she scraped off the polish manually which took a long time (and three more hand baths in the harsh solution) - my other place does, too, but they do the most part with a little sanding tool which is much gentler, quicker and also removes the dry flaky skin around the nail. Splash didn't do anything about the cuticles and the dry skin. I also had a torn nail that day on which my other place usually puts some special glue and the nail is perfectly fixed. At Splash they just painted over it and of course it didn't even last until the end of the day and the nail tore more and I had to cut it short. All in all the nails look ok, she painted a bit over the sides and now the polish has come off in those places, but still ok. I just realise now that the more expensive places just have better tools and you get what you pay for. I think I will go back to my old place though. I still love Splash for the waxing!
I had an O.K. experience at Splash - I arrived on time and waited for 20 minutes before I was seated with the stylist. Although they offered me complimentary tea and coffee I was repeatedly told that she would be “only a few more minutes”. I had booked and paid for a 55 minutes time slot but I felt like the entire thing was really rushed. This salon is alright if you are looking for a quick cheap haircut or blow average but it’s certainly not a relaxing or luxurious experience. I’m not sure I would be going back for anything more than a basic trim, if at all.
