I am very surprised that this place is so highly rated. When I arrived the beauty therapist that greeted me didn't know I was having my eyebrows shaped she thought it was just eyelash extensions. After offering me the sofa to sit on I was left waiting with another customer for almost 10 minutes with no explanation of what she was doing. I was then called upstairs and after asking how I would like my eyebrows 'shaped' I clearly asked her to just take some off the ends and shape them, asking her to just pluck them if needed but not to take too much off. I actually showed her where I wanted some off. She proceeded to wax my eyebrows, wax my forehead for some reason and pluck them taking about 15 minutes. During this even though I wasn't very happy about it putting 'special treatments' on- a special cleanser was put on etc. Prior to having my eyelashes on a liquid was applied that stung my eyes so much they felt like they were burning. I then had the tape applied to my bottom eyelids which for one eye took 3 attempts it was very sore. During the lashes being applied I wasn't made to feel comfortable at all and at times was spoken to very abruptly, being barked at to not open my eyes. After the lashes were applied I was trying to open my eyes and I'm not sure whether it was the liquid put on prior to the lashes that irritated my eyes so much or the type or amount of glue but I couldn't open them for almost half an hour. I actually had to be taken downstairs and sat on a sofa and left whilst trying to fan my eyes and open them. I have had noveau lashes and other cluster lashes in previous salons and also I have had cashmere individual lashes and none of them were as painful as having these ones. My eyes stung and watered for almost 3 hours after. At one point I couldn't see for 15 minutes it was very painful. The beauty therapist that had done them had said I had sensitive eyes, which may be true as they often water which I know is normal with these procedures but they've never been that bad and not for 3 hours! Another beauty therapist at the salon was attentive helping me fan my eyes and giving me a tissue when I had been brought downstairs to wait as the one that had done my treatments had moved on to the next client without a word to me. When I finally managed to open my eyes and look (when I had been picked up and was in the car) my eyebrows had been plucked within an inch of their lives and the lashes were clumpy and didn't look very even. I could have coped with my lashes but I've hardly got any eyebrows left and they are really short at the end and difficult to fill in as it is but they are a lot worse now. Very dissatisfied considering I'd specifically asked for them to be shaped and just a bit taken off. I won't be returning to the spa again.
