Good as always
Really happy with my treatment, lovely place and staff.
Dirty hairdressers tables, pulling hair too hard all the time, chewing gum was unprofessional
I thought that the staff was really friendly by their appearance and I also felt really welcome when I came in straight away. I liked the atmosphere and the music too as it made the time worthwhile and made my treatment more relaxing. I liked how the staff have offered me a drink as well which was really thoughful. I was also happy as one member of the staff explained the procedures of the treatment and gave me some advice as well in the meantime. I am very happy about my first visit and I would definitely come back again. It's a lovely place and really nice people.
I don't really like the idea of posting a negative review but my experience here was so horrible I don't want anyone else to experience the same thing. I visited Statement Hair and Beauty a few weeks before Christmas for the first time for a Hollywood bikini wax. I regularly receive these treatments and since moving back to the area have been looking for a salon to make my usual. My email booking said my appointment was with Jazz but the girl I had didn't introduce herself so I'm not sure if it was her or not- she didn't make any conversation for the whole appointment. I've never felt so uncomfortable during a wax and it was very obvious that Jazz was rushing through the appointment so she could finish for the day (I came to the salon around 5/6pm) Each strip was ripped off so hurriedly and I've never been poked and prodded so much during a wax- to the point where that alone became painful. Also several times she didn't manage to completely pull the wax strip off, more unnecessary pain. Being used to bikini waxes, it is rare for me to find them painful or anything more than a little discomfort but a couple of times I physically jerked with force because of how rough it was and one particular time she stopped and said, 'it's fine?!' in such a shirty tone. I'm aware this isn't the most gentle procedure (!!) but that was an experience I would quickly like to forget, Her attitude and customer care was appalling and to be honest I just felt humiliated. I noticed that night that the area was covered in bruises, something I've never seen on me in four years of regular waxes. Girls, don't do it, don't visit Statement. There are plenty of lovely therapists in Southampton who will want to give you a good, comfortable experience.
