I've been to Ying Thai a few times before and I think it's a lovely venue, the staff are always pleasant, professional and friendly, and previous massages have always been great. As with most places the style varies with each member of staff, and unfortunately the massage I had recently was only okay. The masseuse just didn't seem like she wanted to be there and there was no structure to what she was doing, it wasn't very effective and I could still feel lots of knots when I left. However if I was still working around Kings Cross I might have given it another go based on the quality of previous visits.
This was my first Thai style massage and I wasn't disappointed. It was a bit on the painful side but I was expecting it and you can ask the masseuse to tone it down if you wish. I ached for a couple of days afterwards but this is the first time I've had a massage that I've really felt the benefit of. I definitely felt a lot of the tension in my shoulder area had gone and felt a lot more relaxed. The venue itself was surprisingly pleasant and clean and the staff were very friendly. On the whole this was a very good experience and I intend to go back regularly, whenever I feel the need to de-stress.
Usual good experience but it is a bit annoying how we can't pick the therapist as the quality of massage I get from here varies from time to time. They are all good but some of them are better
I have now been twice to Ying Thai. My first visit started with a brief wash and massage of my feet which was very relaxing. The first time I had a Thai massage by a male staff, who was just excellent, he was quiet, brilliant technique and made me feel incredibly relaxed and at ease. His technique was excellent and I left walking on clouds for at least 1 week. I suffer from lower back pain, which basically vanished for a week.
My second visit did not start with a brief wash of my feet and a massage as hoped. I also had a thai massage this time by a female staff. This involved a lot of back cracking and but also stretching. The technique was completely different from my first visit, and even though I felt relaxed, I did not feel as at ease and comrotable as at my first visit. From pumping massage oil and walking around the massage table, it was more noisy and contributed to my discomfort. I left with backache I didnt have. On my next visit I will make sure my booking is with the same gentleman who I had first time around.
