Great experience as always. The lady knew what I needed most work on and focused on that rather than the usual whole body. Very polite and friendly staff as always.
Oh dear! I am not one for complaining, or writing reviews at all, let alone bad ones, but felt I had to review the Thai massage I had today. It is a shame because the lady was very sweet, and the place was perfectly pleasant.
She didn't ask me anything about myself, whether I had any injuries or illnesses, or what I wanted out of the massage. Is that unusual? Not sure, but I've always been asked before. My main issue is that the treatment I had didn't resemble a Thai massage in any way. I had to strip completely and spent the first hour face down on a massage bed (this was a 1.5 hr massage). All previous Thai massages I've had were fully clothed, laying on a futon on the floor - lots of cushions involved for both me and the therapist. The lady used oil throughout, and used the flat of her hand the WHOLE time, It was just constant rubbing in long strokes, identical each time, over and over and over. There was absolutely no manipulation of limbs, or variation of pressure, speed or areas to work on. At one stage I started counting the number of times she swept her hand over exactly the same place and got to about sixty before giving up (I was bored and not at all sleepy - I'm not a pedantic or fussy person). I was really hoping that she would vary her pressure, use elbows or thumbs, work on a tiny specific area, press and hold - anything! But what could I say? - Can you do it better? It was kind of strange really, especially as the place is called Traditional Thai Massage at Thai Massage Central! Have I got it all wrong? Is it me?
