all good!
good price, good haircut, cute salon
As the mum of twin babies, I don’t get out too often. But as I’d arranged some drinks for my birthday, I decided to treat myself to a blow dry. I’d been here once before and had a decent experience. It seemed to start so well - a different hairdresser dried my hair, then used straighteners to add a wave. At the time I thought she’d done a decent job, but a couple of days later, I realised that as well as giving me ‘beachy waves’ the hairdresser had burnt the ends of several sections of my hair. In the worst areas, two inches of hair now looks like a frazzled, frizzy mess. Naturally I was pretty upset, but with two small babies to look after, I only had the chance to call and complain once my husband was off work the next weekend. I was told the salon’s owner would call me back. He didn’t. I assumed this was an oversight so phoned again. This time I was informed that the salon owner had no intention of returning my call, and was unwilling to talk to me because a week had passed - it seems that they are no longer interested in their customers at this point. I have photographs of my destroyed hair, but no one cares enough to look at them. It’s hard to imagine how they could beat this incredibly low standard of customer service, but the woman on the other end of the phone gave it a try. She informed me that she was, in fact, the very hairdresser who had destroyed my hair a week earlier. Rather than apologise, she suggested that should I write a review of my experience at the salon, I should take responsibility for what had happened because my hair was already a bit dry when I came to the salon. To sum up - I have spent the last two years growing my hair (and I don’t like to big myself up, but I genuinely did get quite regular compliments on it), but one simple trip to this salon has left the ends frizzy and frayed. I’m going to have to go to a real hairdresser to get at least 2 inches chopped off. The owner of this salon clearly has zero respect or interest in their customers. And the hairdresser basically admits that you enter this place at your own risk. I was just trying to give myself a nice birthday treat. I chose the wrong salon. Don’t make the same mistake as me - go somewhere, anywhere else.
