This salon is amazing, I booked in for shellac on my toes. From the minute I walked in I was greeted with friendly staff and offered refreshments. The lovely therapist made me feel very relaxed and I really enjoyed my experience. I've had shellac before and it always used to come off but my shellac lasted nearly over 3 weeks which I thought was amazing... Highly recommend The Beauty Clinic Kingston. You won't be disappointed!!
Unfortunately I am going to leave a bad review of this place. I got to the venue around 10 minutes early and it was all locked up with the bars over the shop. I wasn't too bothered to stand outside but it was cold and there was obviously no-one already in the building to set up such as heat up the wax. I rang a few numbers and got hold on one of the ladies who said she had bad traffic/trouble parking and would be there in a minute. By the time she arrived it was past the time of my appointment (which was at 10.30) she then had to go open up the building, turn lights on and the wax etc. Whilst she was waiting for the 2nd therapist to arrive she offered to thread my eyebrows - I thought (maybe naively) that this was complementary due to having to wait (but I had to pay at the end which would have been ok if my wax was good but it wasn't.... I then went into the treatment room for my wax, (was nice and clean room). However it was the most horrific wax I have ever had. I have been having wax's for a couple of years now so know what to expect in terms of pain, I know it is rarely as 'pleasant experience' but the technique she used was awful. First of all she did my legs with roll on strip wax, the roll on wax was not nice and my personal preference is to apply with a spatula as when rolled on it pulls the hair. She also seemed to take a very long time doing this which prolonged the experience. Waxing should be quick and efficient when getting it done professionally and especially for the price I paid. Secondly the Hollywood wax was absolutely awful. Again I have had many of these and never really bother me that much at all. She used hot wax like I requested but either she had not used it much before or it was a bad/low quality wax used. when waxing it off she seemed to pull up little bits at time extremely slowly and rather then just lifting up a small bit to pull from and then quickly waxing up the rest like it should be done. this again took a very long time. She also was wearing a black fluffy jumper which kept of getting stuck to the left over wax on my legs. Additionally she didn't really know how to position me so I suggested where I should place my legs to be most accessible! (from what ive experienced before). I was also agaist a wall so she had to lean across rather than being in the middle of the room which there was plenty of space to do so.
But my biggest bare was that she wasn't thorough at all- I still had loads of hairs left (long obvious ones!) all around my bikini and area! she took out a few with tweezers, but on closer inspection I noticed a lot more. she also didn't do around my derriere region which has always been done when I've had Hollywood's at other salons. Such a shame as the staff where friendly and its an ok salon and I would of wanted to return due to good location and close to work, however I will not be returning and furthermore will be complaining to the company directly.
Ive been a regular at The Beauty Clinic, since it opened. I don't want to go anywhere else. I have had everything from Facials, Massages, Pedicures, i'd really recommend everything to you - but my personal favorite are the Facials & Packages, great treat for birthdays, xmas or pamper days.
