A great over night trip enjoyed by all. Superb value for money. Small spa but there was enough there to keep us entertained for the three hours. Evening carvery was pleasant enough. The breakfast was excellent!
The staff were wonderful and the facial was superb. Couldn't use outside facilities as boiler was broken but there was plenty of other things to do; we especially enjoyed the snooze room! It wasn't crowded, and we were treated very well. Afternoon tea was simple but freshly made and fine. We wondered if the steam rooms might have had an aromatherapy scent to them but otherwise very good value for money.
A pretty well-equipped hotel spa with friendly staff for whom nothing is too much trouble. Fantastic value due to the deal we purchased but I wouldn't feel it was so good if we'd paid full price.
Little things would make a big difference to the experience. The quiet room wasn't quiet as you could hear the music from downstairs. Hooks by the steam room would mean we didn't have to pile robes & towels on a unit. A shelf or cover over the outside hooks would mean we could relax in the barrel sauna or hot tub in the rain without worrying our robes & towels were getting wet.
Attention to the cleanliness of the robes would be good (mine looked like it had been worn by a fake tan addict earlier that day, very grimey around the neck). Slamming doors and being able to hear ringing phones didn't make for the most relaxing treatment either. Easing off on the chlorine in the hot tub would also mean it didn't sting your eyes and taint your skin for hours after, despite a shower to try to rid myself of the smell. I've spent days in a friend's hot tub and not smelled that bad.
Afternoon tea was lovely though and the staff couldn't do enough to help. Some good deals on treatments that day were also on offer. It was great value for what we paid, but I'd be reluctant to pay full price.
I'm not going to go into great detail of my stay at The Bridge Hotel & Spa but I found my stay at the hotel very average and didn't offer anything other than that. The staff there (apart from the receptionists) were so laid back that they might of just been back in bed, the staff in the restaurant were shocking for example it took over ten minutes for us to get a pot of tea and that is after asking twice. The facilities were ok apart from the fact the mens changing rooms were out of order and I had to change in a toilet room with a shower that only run cold water. The treatments were really nice and that was the only true positive part of the stay. We got the deal on Lastminute.com for half price but if i would of paid full price for this i would of felt a lot more let down down than i am now. Would i recommend this to anyone?? Probably not.
