The spa break was good, however the spa was very small so wouldn't be any good if they were busy. The staff were all really nice and the place was really clean. The double bed we had was two singles put together and you could feel the gap between the beds, also the beds were not very comfortable and I woke up feeling like if slept on concrete all night! Overall the spa break was good just don't go at peak times otherwise you will be disappointed.
THE HOT TUB WAS OUTSIDE, WHICH WOULD BE LOVELY ON A SUMMER'S DAY BUT IT WAS DULL AND CHILLY WHEN WE WERE THERE. THERE WAS QUITE A LARGE AMOUNT OF SCUM FLOATING ON THE SURFACE, WHICH WE HAD TO REMOVE BEFORE WE COULD GET IN. THE PLUNGE POOL WAS EMPTY. THE STEAM ROOM SEATS WERE VERY STRAIGHT UP AND NARROW, AND WEREN'T BIG ENOUGH TO LIE DOWN ON. I HAD A GELISH NAIL MANICURE - THERE WAS NO "PAMPERING" OR CREAMS AT ALL, AND THEY HAD NO WHITE ENAMEL SO I COULDN'T HAVE A FRENCH FINISH. MY FRIEND HAD PLAIN NAIL VARNISH BUT THERE WAS A VERY LIMITED RANGE OF COLOURS TO CHOOSE FROM AND SHE THOUGHT THE FINISH WAS VERY THIN. WE THOUGHT THE AFTERNOON TEA WAS OK, BUT NOT VERY EXCITING. ON THE GOOD SIDE, THE RELAXATION ROOM WAS LOVELY. WE HAD 2 COFFEES UP THERE, VERY FRIENDLY SERVICE TO BRING THEM AND WE DIDN'T PAY FOR THEM.
Lovely little place, food fantastic, cleanliness poor this time assume due to renovations, previously spot on, small friendly, lovely outside Hot Tub, just in need of extra touches and overall scrub.
I had a fantastic stay here the hotel was great the food was amazing! And the staff were fantastic! I would defiantly return thank you bridge hotel and spa note I haven't rated swimming as there was no swimming facilities. Francesca
My friend and I thoroughly enjoyed our overnight spa break at The Bridge. The hotel grounds are lovely and the staff were friendly and welcoming throughout our visit. The room was clean and comfortable with a TV and tea/coffee making facilities (no hair dryer). We were hugely impressed by the food - afternoon tea was lovely and the dinner and breakfast we received as part of our package was absolutely delicious! I'd visit again just on the food alone! The spa facilities were clean but basic compared to other spas I have visted and quite spread out throughout the building. The outdoor hot tub was a great place to start with our complimentary glass of bubbly however, we were disappointed to find that the plunge pool was empty and the Nordic sauna out of order - no apologies were made for this. Up one set of stairs was a relaxation room which had a lovely ambience with gentle music and dimmed lighting. Up another set of stairs at the other side of the spa was a sauna, steam room and 2 individual foot spas. The facilities were small and basic - but they served their purpose and I did feel incredibly relaxed at the end of my visit.
