This was my first visit to The Cove... the girls who worked there were pleasant, I had a wax and it was good & my eyelashes looked good after the tinting treatment.
First impression was not great as I was phoned to ask if they can move my appointment earlier. I haven't got time to reschedule so I cut my shopping short - I was having lunch then so I had the massage on a full tummy! The venue is OK but for the price I expected better. The massage was OK too and the therapist concentrated on the areas that I was having problems with. I have not had hot stone massage before, so I could not compare my experience. When the massage was finished, I was left with oily body and a pair of mitts to "sort myself out" (in most spas I had visited, the therapist helped wipe off the excess oil, sometimes even with warm water) - obviously I would miss a few oily spots! So that was not great... In short it was OK. I will not be running back for more, though. Unless it's cheaper!
Gel overlay meant only colour application. I was expecting them to also tidy up my nails, but this wasn't the case. It felt rushed overall. The girl applied so thin layers of colour that it looks uneven, it is almost transparent in some areas and darker in others. The room was quite dark so I couldn't see the result before I walked away.
This place is quite well hidden as there is only the front door on street level. I was left waiting for a while outside, after knocking and not getting a response, and then calling and no one picking up. Eventually someone let me in and the venue itself was lovely. It was very calm and appeared to be clean and tidy. The staff were friendly and could answer any questions I had. The treatment was okay- the waxer was friendly and we had a good chat, however I was left quite red afterwards. I thought this would go away but it lasted about 4 days (it looked like something between a love bite and a bruise, all along my bikini line!). This was a bit embarrassing as I was going on holiday the next day but at least I was hair free!
