I would strongly recommend that you stay away from this hotel and only go for a Spa day. Myself and my partner slept for literally 2 hours because we had such bad neck and back aches and pains from sleeping in the beds. Maybe they design them that way so you can hop over to the spa and pay for a massage that you didn't need the day before.
This was my second visit to Whittlebury and unfortunately I was not impressed at all. It was nothing compared to my first visit. It was more like a playground with kids overtaking the spa, when the whole reason to go to a spa is to unwind and relax. We were taken in for our massage late and the duration was not even for 20Mins. To top it off the massage was one of the worst I've ever had.
The lunch was appalling, they called rice with corn and beans a "paella", they ran out of food and what they had, was not even edible. Thank god for the cafeteria where we could have some scones and a decent cup of HOT tea. Dinner and breakfast was better but nothing to rave about.
The only place where we did try and get some peace and quiet was in the quiet room and the water beds. They need to have more water beds as we just had to wait.
I definitely will not be back and would not recommend this spa to my friends. Unfortunately their standards have dropped drastically.
