Had a really lovely day. Really relaxing and all the facilities you could ask for from a spa. I went last year and there have been a number of improvements (layout in changing rooms much better and wine lists on the table in the restaurants) but still a few minor snags that leave it just shy of 5*. The shower cubicles are quite small so the curtain sticks to you, which feels a bit unhygienic and I'm really petite so it must be really small for anyone of average size! The swimwear dryer wasn't working when I went (another lady said it had been like that for a while) and there were no bags in which to take wet garments home, which was a bit inconvenient. The beautician that did my pedicure didn't really seem to enjoy her job, telling me she couldn't wait for her day to end, while the other staff were happily chatting to their clients. I'm sure she was just having a bad day but you have spa treatments to get away from the stresses of daily life, not endure someone else's! It would also have been useful to know I had been allocated a locker upon arrival, as I spent a while looking for an empty one because they all looked locked. It was only because another lady told me to look for the one with the number on my envelope that I found out why none of them would open! Really minor gripes though and I would definitely go back there and would recommend it to others.
A spa day at Whittlebury represents good value. Our group all had a nice and relaxed time. Staff were attentive, listened to requirements and were understanding which was great. Some of the facilities i.e. the pool are looking a little tired however, I have been before and would happily go again.
My husband and I had a lovely spa weekend at Whittlebury Hall, making use of the "Escape and Stay Getaway" which included full use of spa facilities, a buffet lunch, massage, dinner, overnight stay and breakfast the next day. My only complaint would be that arriving at 10am (the same time as a lot of large groups of women) meant that at the beginning there was a lot of talking in the saunas/steam rooms which made them less than relaxing. I dont think this could be avoided by the spa, however a sign might remind people to keep voices down. This seemed to even out during the day and by the end we were able to forget that we were parents for a weekend and truly relax! We loved the variety of saunas and steam rooms available and the relaxation room upstairs. Our room was clean and spacious, the food was delicious and we had some lovely cocktails in the sports bar in the evening.
All in all a lovely weekend and would definately recommend.
Hadn't been to Whittlebury for about 2 years and was really impressed. The pool area had had a bit of a re-vamp. The only downside was having lunch in a room with no real daylight or atmosphere. Also it is not possible to access the café bar from the pool area if you wanted to take drinks by the pool (this used to be the restaurant) Other than that everything was great. The Heat and Ice Experience outweighs any other spa I have been to.
