We enjoyed a nice couple of hours in the spa however, that is all you'd need I think. We had planned on a full spa day but on arrival we realised there's actual not much to the "spa" other than a hot tub, sauna and steam room. There's no where to eat or get a drink (other than water) and only one area, so once more than 6 or so people are in there it can feel a bit crowded and you loose the serenity. I think as a cheap couple of hours escape this is great (our treatments were pretty decent and the staff very good) but as a spa day or somewhere super relaxing, it's definitely not!
I came here for the spa day with two friends. The staff were great, really friendly and helpful. They facilities were great, very clean and as it was quiet, we had the space to ourselves for some of the time. The only thing I would say is it's quiet small. We didn't use the gym but it was included, I'm not sure if there was a swimming pool in there as well? We all had the neck shoulder and scalp massage and it was amazing- would highly recommend.
I really enjoyed my day at the Varsity Hotel however I was a bit disappointed in their first aid policy as my friend fainted while on the premises and not a lot was done by the staff other than giving her a bottle of water, they said a first aider would be in and he never arrived so I was slightly disappointed with this but overall a good experience.
The Glassworks offers a very tranquil and clean environment. The reception staff are helpful and courteous.
I had my second aromatherapy massage from Rachel today. She gives an exceptionally good massage checking your preferences and then applying just the right amount of pressure throughout the massage. I have received many massages from different masseurs but Rachel is amongst the best.
