the door to get into the treatment room was quite tight although the treatment room size was fine. The treatment was jsut as i thought it would be, nice and relaxing, didn't really need it for weight loss, but did the treatment to get rid of some toxins (many nights out drinking and kebabs, i needed this lol). The therapist did a body composition, everything did decrease after treatment, however i'm still skeptical whether my body fat could have decreased by 0.5% in jsut 30 mins!! If i have to make one impovement, is that i think they could add a shower room attached onto the treatment room
The therapist was very reassuring and informative and fully explained the treatment to me. I was weighed and water and fat content in my body recorded and was told that not only the treatment would provide detoxing benefits but that I would also experience some weight loss as the dome breaks down fatty deposits and release the water content in the body. The experience was quite relaxing and the dome was not as claustrophobic as I thought. It was like being inside a sauna but more pleasant. At first I didnt sweat that much so told the therapist who increased the temperature during the last 15 minutes of my treatment which had a profound effect and I started sweating loads. I did not lose any weight but had some water loss and told by therapist that in order to benefit from treatment I would need to do it at least 3-4 times and drink loads more water prior to the treatments. I would recommend treatment and will consider doing it again as there is an offer on at the moment for 2 treatments for the price of 1.
Interesting treatment, great that they do the body analysis so you can compare your stats before and after treatment. Friendly staff but she turned down the heat thinking I was uncomfortable which meant I did not lose much weight - which defeated the point for me so I was a bit dissapointed. Lost 300 grams of pure fat which is on the lower end of what I could have lost.
I was rather excited to get to the Waldorf, but the whole set up is really a let down. The ‘beauty space’ is down in the basement with only 1 therapy room and the Iyashi dome room with no reception area and only 1 chair to sit on by the handicap loop (which by the way was very dirty and totally not what you would expect from a hotel of the level of the Waldorf). The room that houses the Dome is okish, the space where the therapist sits is separate from the dome by a curtain so the therapist is in the room with you all the time and goes behind the curtain to let you undress and/or dress. I found this set up very uncomfortable, especially since the therapist was male. Nothing personal against him, he was nice enough, but I found it odd, that a device probably used mostly by women would be manned (no pun intended) by a man. Despite the disappointing set up and ambiance, the effects of the dome are truly amazing. If you can stand the intense heat for 30mins, it does have real slimming properties. You must keep drinking water!!! And if you combine it with a diet and exercise plan, this is just the thing to help push past your plateau. I am very tempted to use it again, if I can find an other voucher as the price point of £25 per sessions is probably the most I would pay.
Friendly staff and nice ambience. Very comfortable way of burning those calories!! The only trick is that you need to do many of those treatments to feel a difference... Therefore at the end of the day you need to spend much more and your voucher gives you only a taster.. Also quite difficult to book an appointment of your choice as the place seems quite booked up..
