Very relaxed salon with chilled out staff. Unpretentious, yet trendy. Had an excellent head massage and the stylist picked up on my cues that I wasn't a big talker (loathe having forced conversation). Was offered a drink and served a biscuit with it to boot, so that was a nice you touch. Cut was very good and as discussed. Suits my face shape and now that I've had the chance to wash and style it myself, I very much like it.
To bring this up to a five star, the styling of the hair was not as discussed. I left with relatively flat hair, not with the messy, beachy hair we had discussed from a styling perspective. I will emphasise that the cut was very well done, but I only discovered this upon leaving the salon.
I felt my stylist was pretty nonchalant. That or hungover. Regardless, it didn't feel like she was interested in cutting my hair and that I was more of an inconvenience to her day. Her lack of engagement actually ended up working out, as I wasn't interested in carrying on a conversation, but as a client it would have been nice to feel like she was interested in cutting my hair versus "let's just get this over done with, shall we?".
Dan did a great trim and blow dry for me. I liked that he gave me some ideas about what he'd recommend rather than just listening to what I thought I wanted. Great chat, ambience and space.
The salon is quite modern and a bit hipstery in looks, which I like :) It also makes it different from other salons in the area, that are a bit more classic.
Maria is a sweetheart. She took a lot of care on the work she was doing on my nails and was very kind and friendly.
One week in, and the shellac is still spotless. I love the colour and the technique. Definitely coming back next time I do my nails! :)
A warm welcome, solid drinks selection offered when I arrived, and a great haircut.
There was a 20min wait, which was a bit annoying as I was on my lunch and meant my treatment had to be cut a bit short, but otherwise a great experience and would definitely recommend a haircut with Amy.
