I booked in for my first ever Hollywood wax with Treatwell but adjusted my booking over 24h before my original appointment time. When I arrived the salon had no recollection of my booking and blamed “being busy” for not seeing that my appointment time had been changed. The lady who did my treatment said she checked the emails this morning and didn’t see an adjustment, which can’t have been true as I did it at lunch time of the day before. She called me through to the treatment room and I explained to her that I had never been waxed before. I got up on the bed and she proceeded to apply talcum powder to the area with a fluffy brush that had quite obviously been used on others before as it was saturated with powder when she got it out. As I didn’t know what to expect, I didn’t know that wasn’t normal, but felt something wasn’t quite right. The rest of the waxing was done in silence and I then asked about when I can next moisturise/shower etc and was given barely any response. I then phoned my sister and explained the brush scenario and she told me that my hunch was right and that this was definitely not common practice. I will not be returning
